Completed a Long time ago
Spoiler Alert!
Yeah yeah, KLK was released like 6 years ago, but I like this anime, not only because of the 100% fanservice, but also because it was just good. Also they’re releasing a game for KLK, and the XBox users will take an L cause it’s only released on PS4 and Steam (also Nintendo Switch but we don’t talk about trash here)!
KLK is about clothes, but not just any clothes! These clothes make the wearer EXTRA THICC!!! Well, maybe, but they make the user powerful af. The material used is called life fiber, and a normal human can’t wear an article of clothing with a lot of it. Only special people can, like our main character (hol up I forgot her name) Ryuko Matoi. Matoi is also 1 letter to being Matou AKA bug using plebs from the nasuverse.
The way society works in KLK is that your school position dictates your social standing. So, if you’re student council, you basically live in a mansion. If you’re a normal student, you get the slums. Needless to say, I’m glad that I don’t live in that world. Your position also dictates how much life fibers are in your clothes (basically you’re more powerful).
The uniforms are separated into three ranks: 1 star, 2 stars, and 3 stars. There’s also pure life fiber uniforms but if you’re not an important character you will die if you put that on because life fibers run on blood so you get su c c ed dry. hehe xd.
This new WordPress editor is getting on my nerves. Before, you could just type “—” and a huge horizontal line appears. Now it doesn’t work like that. Change it back because this sucks.
Anyways, for character design, it’s pretty good. All the characters are pretty funny, needless to say. Ryuko and Satsuki is fanservice. Everyone else does dumb stuff that is good to laugh at. The thing is, there is a wide range of characters, and most of them are useful.
The cast has a charm that most shows don’t have, because most shows’ cast is insufferable, but I find KLK’s cast to be pretty good. Aside from one or two idiots, the whole cast is very much likable, even the antagonists.
Having 24 episodes, KLK is very… long. What do you fill in 24 whole episodes? Well, the student council change sides, and the real antagonist is revealed. Satsuki, as it turns out, is quite likable. Also there is a thing called “nudist beach” who are the good guys. Sounds like a joke, and I remember choking on my water when I first watched this part of the anime.
Characters get a straight 10/10. I really like the cast, and that’s that. There’s no more to be said.
Audio in KLK is good.
There’s 2 openings in KLK, and I wouldn’t personally add them to my playlist, but they are in no means bad. In fact, they’re pretty good. Give them a listen, and also their accompanying animations are damngood as well.
There’s also 2 endings in KLK. They’re very calm compared to the openings, and I personally don’t like calm songs. But if you do, then you’ve got two to listen to now.
The background music, if I remember, worked well with the scenes.
I don’t care for the VA. I don’t care about 3D people.
Sound is good overall. 9/10.
Art… is something unique.
In HnK you’ve got complete CG. In NGNL you’ve got eye rape. In here? Well, I can’t describe it, but it definitely doesn’t look like the modern anime with shaders and fancy crap like that. At first, I dropped KLK because I hated the art. Then, I decided to watch it again, from episode 1 with an open mind. Then I finished it all in 1 sitting. The art is very… “non standard”, but I’d say that it contributed to KLK’s success. It is very memorable unlike a lot of anime art today, which tends to be just “modern digital graphics with some fancy shaders”. KLK’s art has a charm to it that nothing else has. The effects and the way the whole thing is put together is very careful and beautiful IMO.
Animation is great here too. The microjiggles are all here. xd. The fight scenes are… not bad at all.
I guess you can say little witch acadamia looks like KLK, but they’re both from Studio Trigger. Also I’ve never watched the former and I don’t plan to.
Anyways, animations and art will get 9.5/10 because it’s somewhat cheesy at times, and even I have to say… there’s too much fanservice.
A story… about clothes? Well, I can’t really explain how well it works, but it works. 10/10. Never heard of something quite like this.
KLK is great. No other words to say. 10/10. If you are that 1 person who hasn’t watched it yet, just do it.
